American Football Takes
The topic of football in London generally revolves around Premier League teams Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur.
That is, unless the National Football League (NFL) comes to
town, which it has since 2007 in an annual matchup known as
The International Series that has made American-style football an increasingly popular spectator sport for London sports
fans. On two separate occasions this past fall, JW MARRIOTT
LONDON GROSVENOR HOUSE hosted two NFL teams—the
Minnesota Vikings and the Jacksonville Jaguars —as they prepared to meet their opponents, the Pittsburgh Steelers and
San Francisco 49ers, respectively. While game day stats were
impressive, nothing can compare to those of the Grosvenor
House kitchen, which prepared 250kg of lean meat and poultry,
40kg seafood, 100kg fresh vegetables, 50kg pasta, 600 eggs,
150 liters of fresh milk, 45kg of bananas, 1,500 slices of bread
and 300 bagels during the teams’ stays.
