The JW MARRIOTT PUNE hosted the Culinary & Bar Art Fest 2015,
a 15-day celebration of global cuisines and bar artistry and the first of
its kind in India. The festival saw celebrity chefs, bartenders and som-
meliers from across the world, along with the hotel’s team of chefs
and bar artists, led by Executive Chef Ajmal Salim, come together to
present a kaleidoscope of unique, trendsetting food and beverage
concepts. Kashmiri, Lebanese, Italian and Turkish food festivals took
over the hotel’s three restaurants—Shakahari, Alto Vino and Paasha—
while a team of award-winning winemakers and sommeliers presented
interesting wine dinners, wine-pairing sessions and workshops during
the festival. Chef Salim added his own sweet touch by hosting choco-
late studios throughout the festival.
JW Marriott—the Hot Host in Austin
JW Marriott was the official hotel partner for this year’s Austin Food +
Wine Festival and sponsor of the “Meet the Maker” tent, which hosted
an exciting lineup of the region’s finest wine and spirit makers. Among
them were Tito Beveridge of Tito’s Vodka and David Page of Tequila
Herradura, who held a series of intimate tasting sessions over the
course of the weekend. Also providing a refreshing respite from the
festival bustle and Texas heat was JW partner and beverage expert
Tad Carducci of Tippling Bros., who poured three refreshing cocktails from the stylish JWM Bar located under the tent. Top talent who
stopped by the Meet the Maker tent included award-winning chefs
Tim Love, Richard Blais, Jenn Louis and Ken Oringer, among others.
The JW MARRIOTT AUSTIN, a new player in the city’s hot culinary
scene, was also represented at the festival, where Chef Jennifer Etzkin
of Corner Restaurant shared some of her Texas-inspired dishes.
FOOD, GLORIOUS FOOD EVENTS
JW hotels around the world enthrall their guests with a vivid menu
of culinary experiences. And then there are those destinations that
take the passion for food and drink to a whole new level. Feast on
the festival moments of JW hotels in Austin, Houston and Pune.
JW Marriott Houston Downtown Hogs
the Culinary Spotlight
Not far from Austin, the Texas foodie world was focused on Houston,
where Cochon555, a one-of-a-kind traveling culinary competition to
promote sustainable farming of heritage breed pigs, stopped off at
the JW MARRIOTT HOUSTON DOWNTOWN, the official hotel host.
The Houston event featured five notable chefs cooking five whole
hogs in a friendly competition that also brought artist-like butchers,
spirited bartenders, top winemakers, brewers, distillers and brazen
pastry talent together to prepare an epic feast celebrating responsible family farming. Among them was Erin Smith, of the hotel’s own
Main Kitchen, along with Ronnie Killen of Killen’s BBQ, Brandi Key
of Punk’s Simple Southern Food, Mark Decker of Down House and
Ryan Pera and Morgan Weber of Coltivare.
